The album features three remixed versions of "Lovesday Dead Down," the jangly, rollicking, infectious stand out track from 'Berandals.' Additional album highlights include an acoustic version of "Lovesday Dead Down," and a previously unreleased version of track "Ship As Friends," from the band's 2004 release 'Lose Your Favorite Things.'
The remix album features contributions from mash-up master Mild Davis (Black Box Mixtapes artist who has remixed Apples In Stereo, Cities etc.), indie producer Zeno Gill (The Rosebuds, Portastatic, produced the original version of 'Lovesday') and Radical 9 aka Alex Cox (remixed Tahiti 80 tracks). The additional album tracks - the acoustic 'Lovesday' version and the 'Ship As Friends' track - were both recorded by producer C. Smoak (the acoustic version was recorded in his living room for this release).
Contributor Mild Davis lends his remix expertise on the opening track of the album, his 'Phantom Beats Mix' of the 'Lovesday' track. This memorable take on the original song version flips the track into a grimy, bass heavy dance anthem. On 'Fuzzalo Mix,' the second track, original 'Lovesday' song producer Zeno Gill creates a more down tempo take on the track. The song echoes with a mellow groove and fuzzy melody. On track three, the 'Brooklyn Floats Mix' of 'Lovesday' by Radical 9 lends an ambient rock edge, tinged with gleaming guitar harmonies and hollowed vocals. On track four of the album, the 'LDD Acoustic Mix,' producer C. Smoak and North Elementary frontman John Harrison create a delicate, ghostly version of the original track. Underlying resonating organ notes and a slower tempo lend a bittersweet sense of melancholy not prevalent on the original version. The fifth and last album track is a previously unreleased version of 'Ship As Friends,' from the bands 2004 release 'Lose Your Favorite Thing.' (also recorded with C. Smoak). The new version has a slightly faster tempo, with subdued vocals, creating a subtle but noticeably different overall feel.
